Erika S. helps us interpret this fantastic find:
The second I found your website, I knew the vanity plate I had to submit. This car is always parked on the next block over from my house (the owner lives on the block) and the first time I ever saw it, I laughed out loud. The owner is a young guy who one can only assume is a fan of the famed SNL skit. I managed to snap a shot today.
Get it?
MORE COWBELL
Probably one of the best SNL skits of all time. So the fact that this driver put it on a vanity plate? I'll let it slide this time. By the way, my name is Bruce Dickinson. Yes, the Bruce Dickinson. I put my pants on just like the rest of you -- one leg at a time. Except, once my pants are on, I make gold records. The cock of the walk, baby!
UPDATE: For those of you who are totally confused (*ahem commenters) Erika has also submitted a link to the video of this skit. You guys are the best.

I like the inscription on his plate. Where can I get that?
uh, who is bruce dickenson?
weird
what is cowbell?
thats weird too
Wikipedia says the guy (Bruce Dickinson) is a lead singer in some group called Iron Maiden. Never heard of him or the group. Oh well. Probably just some bar band.
funny.
If you live in D.C. you can have that inscription on your plate just like everyone else residing there.
Also, if you have not heard of 'Iron Maiden', you likely were not alive in the 80's.
If you click the words "SNL skits" in the post it will go to the urban dictionary explaining this scene.
I couldn't find a clip of the scene anywhere online. If anyone finds one I would love to post it!
Iron Maiden is only one of the greatest bands of the 80s. I love this SNL bit and this plate frickin' rocks!
BEST VANITY PLATE EVER!
Haha I'm the submitter, and I do live in Washington DC, and the "taxation without representation" is a specialty plate that most DC residents have, as we pay taxes but do not have representation in Congress.
Anyway, I laugh every time I see it parked on the block.
I love it! My favorite part of that skit is Jimmy Fallon trying not to laugh.
Thanks Bruce! Walken did a great job as you too.
I agree...if anybody finds a link to the original skit it'd be nice to have it posted here. I was trying to explain the appeal of it to my husband the other night but I think it's one of those things you have to see to appreciate.
I WANT THIS TAG!!! I love it! And by far the best SNL skit ever.
Man. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised considering what some people dedicate their vanity plates to...
You can't argue with perfection. Vain amybe, but perfect!
I'm totally jealous.
Agreed - best part is Jimmy trying not to laugh. Walken did a frickin awesome job!! I also love how sloppy Will Farrell is.
I totally need to watch this video again!!!!
Iron Maiden is not just one of the best bands from the 80's they quite probably one of the best bands ever.... (no one will ever be as good as U2). This has been voted the best SNL skit ever so many times that it might as well be a fact...
that explains it. I was alive in the 80's, but being a preteen..a strange preteen, the only music artists which existed in my mind were country westerners like dolly and willy. and rock legends from the 50's...haha
Um, the cowbell skit is actually about Blue Oyster Cult and their song Don't Fear the Reaper, not Iron Maiden.
The first time I saw the skit, I injured myself laughing. For years of hearing the song, I'd wondered why the conspicuous thunk-thunk-thunk-thunk cowbell? But it wasn't bothering anyone else, apparently, so I kinda figured I was the only one. So the skit was redemptive, actually.
Bruce Dickenson was in Iron Maiden--that's why people are talking about it. Nobody said the skit was *about* Iron Maiden.
"More Cowbell" also relates to being a Washington Capitals hockey fan. They play the SNL skit at games and everyone brings cowbells to shake.
