Better late than a vanity plate

Chiari L. sent us ALWYSL8 (always late). I'm not sure why anyone would want a license plate with this plastered on it, but thanks for the warning, I guess.

Lexi sent us I R LATE (I are late?). I are don't know grammar very good. Glad they didn't resort to using "L8" at least.

Rachel R. sent us IM LATE. Nice excuse, but I would guess this doesn't really work with law enforcement.DNTBL8 comes to us from MooseNuggette. Uh, thanks for the warning? Although my warning to this driver would be: Don't be a douche.

It's so delicious

Today's plate MMREHAB comes to us from Chiari L. I'm sure this is some employee from a place called MM Rehab, but doesn't it look like they are salivating over rehabilitation? Chiari seems to agree:

I have no clue... mmm rehab? M&Ms rehab? Mickey Mouse rehab?

M&Ms rehab!? I, um, don't need that. I can quit at any time. I swear.

Than to receive your vanity

Smoochiefrog sends us BTR2GIV right in time for the holiday gift giving season. I assume this comes from the popular phrase, "It's better to give than to receive." It originates from the Bible, so you better get on that.

Now, go and buy me some presents.

Bang Head Here

I thought we should celebrate some of our vanity plate owners most creative choices in plates today. I thought no one could beat Jeep owners, but I was wrong. Our first is from Georgina S.: DRIVER. She writes: Thank you, captain obvious.

And what you don't know is that all of the people riding in this car have shirts that say "PASSENGER" (in case there were any questions).

Well this one is quite odd (<-- look how clever I am)! If you look closely, this ODDISEE plate is on a Honda Odyssey. Great job! This must have taken you HOURS to come up with.

Will it ever stop!? (Yo, I don't know)
Out of this world (HAR HAR I did it again)! So hilarious. Bonus points for stating it again on your license plate holder. *shakes head in disappointment*

Like duh... it's, like, a Mazda 6.

Covert Fail

BLACK OP from wikipedia:

A black operation or black op is a covert operation typically involving activities that are highly secret.

Highly secret, indeed! The first thing I would do if I got a secret mission would be to (1) tell everyone I know that I have a secret mission. And (2) make Mr. HLP make us t-shirts that say SHHH! SECRET MISSION IN PROGRESS, but I would never consider a vanity license plate. I mean, what an idiot!

Those that can't do, teach, and those that can't teach... teach gym.

Yes, it's back-to-school time for a lot of you right now, so I thought we'd bring you some educational plates. Educational in the sense that you now know that your child's teacher might be dumb as a rock.

This first example shows that quite well. Smoochiefrog captured LOV2TCH, which we might assume means Loves to Teach. Great. However, it could also mean Loves to Touch. Not really something I'm looking for in a teacher.

Alison B. sent in EDJUK8 (Educate). There is no greater lesson we can teach our kids: When in doubt, use numbers to represent works and sounds.

JP sent in a similar plate, EDDUK8. He writes: I only hope the driver doesn't teach spelling (or my kids anything)!

Yes, r edukatun sistem can has faled us. (Personally, I love teachers [the ones without vanity plates], so I'll just go ahead and blame the lolcats.)

I sneak up on people

I've had several requests to bash hybrid vanity plates. For those of you who have emailed me, consider this post your dream come true. You're welcome.

These first two plates come from Jen G. 7T MPG (Seven Tee Miles Per Gallon... Seventy Miles Per Gallon). The plate holder says I NEED MY SPACE. Yes, for all that smug you carry around.
IH8 GAS (I hate gas). Wait a second, haven't I seen this before? I have (see Silent But Deadly), except now you love zombies. Fantastic. You know you have a bad plate when two separate people send it to the same website. Also, here is a suggestion for the driver: Try Beano.58MPG is from Amanda J. She writes: I can understand the excitement of having to get gas about half as many times as normal, but exactly how excited do you have to be to do this?HYB1RD. Unfortunately, this looks like High Bird, no? LadyStyx, who sent in this picture, seems to agree. She writes: So, what, Big Bird got into Snuffy's main stash?

Congratulations to this driver for botching the word hybrid completely.

Does Not Compute

Welcome to Lovin' the Lord Sunday everyone!

It's good that this holy roller has included the license plate frame (PRAISE GOD WITH DANCING [WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING?]). Unfortunately that is only useful when you are this close to the vehicle. The rest of us just see DNC4GOD (DNC for God) from our point of view:

DNC:

(1) "Does not compute" for God.
(2) Do-Not-Call for God
(3) Dilation and curettage (disturbing) for God?
(4) Democratic National Committee for God

Plate was snapped by Smoochiefrog.

Jesus is my spell checking homeboy

Welcome to Lovin' the Lord Sunday. Today's theme:

(Q) What would Jesus do? (A) Use the spell checker.
Tracy sent in GEE ZUS. Geez.

Kate sent us B4GZUS (Before Jesus?). Or maybe it's BAJESUS? Like, "You scared the Bajesus out of me!"?
Erika S. sent in JSUSSVS (Jesus saves). This driver saves his character limit by excluding the E.
Karl M. found 4CRYST (For Christ?). He writes: Jeebers Chryst, dis driver needs ah gud speelin' lessin - and some serious driving lessons too - the blue handicap spots are for the handicapped - and this person has many mental handicaps, but none that qualified them to use the spot (and no rearview mirror handicap hangy thingy either, I checked).

Ah don't fret my friends— A member of the platerazzi has found the real Jesus (who spells his name correctly). He drives an Escalade.

I'm having an "Out of Money" experience.

Here's a novel idea. TRY SPENDING LESS MONEY ON YOUR VANITY PLATES, SIR.

H82BPOR (Hate to be poor) came to us from Smoochiefrog, who also sent us the next plate.
POFOLKS (Poor folks). Really, the extra cost for this plate was worth it? I'm confused. Maybe it's supposed to mean piss off, folks!? Are they doing vanity plates for free in Maryland now?

I R POOR 2. I are poor because I guess you have to spoke properly to got job. (from Lexi)

Now, let's all join hands and enjoy this financial meltdown together.

I Will Get You My Pretty... And Your Little Vanity Plate Too!!

WIKED comes to use from Smoochiefrog. She writes: ...like totally!

Jen H. managed to grab this photo of SINI5TR (that 5 is supposed to be an S. I know... I know... Argh!). Her comments made me laugh: The car actually looked somewhat sinister... Although, if the devil were driving around on Earth, would he really drive a Honda Civic? I guess if it was a Honda Civic it would be red, and spit more fire.

Donna F. sent in this gem from Virginia. She writes: Ooooooh I'm sooooo scared! No, really, moms in SUVs truly terrify me! I get nightmares!

Vanity plates like this give me nightmares. Today's set of plates were truly creepiness at it's finest. Hats off to the platerazzi for their fine work on these!

Silent, But Deadly

Ftttppppttttt. That was the sound of me farting on this Prius. Hope you liked it. Who hates gas now Mr. Hybrid?

Thanks for the plate Kolleen.

Saturday, February 28, 2009

Was it good for you?

GR84US2 = Great for us, too.

Erika S. writes us:

Stopped by my local grocery store after work, and saw this in the parking lot. What was great for them too? It's almost sexual in a really creepy kind of way.

This definitely fits the creepy criteria.

The Shaggin' Wagon

This photo was captured by Persnickety Ticker on her way to Disney. You know what they say: If the van is a rockin', don't come a knockin'.

Oh, and one more creepy van for your viewing pleasure. Plus, this is how I feel about the public use of the word "lover." *shudder*

This Post Goes To 11

Today's post is brought to you by:

HVYMTL. Sent in by RebelYell.

First up is METLICA brought to us by Kolleen who writes:

The Metallica one is my friend's plate-- She's a HUGE Metallica fan for some ungodly reason. She even has their logo tattooed on the back of her neck. I keep trying to tell her that I question if Metallica was ever good, but she's not buying it. Oh well.

Kat sent in STRYPER. Does anyone remember these guys? All I have to say after watching that video is that those are some very impressive perms.

Jen H. snapped BONJ[heart]V. You give vanity plates a bad name. More impressive perms and pyrotechnics here.

And lastly, we have Megadeth. Forged in the bowels in hell.

Thanks Georgina S.!

Who needs Prozac when you have vanity plates to tell you how to feel?

B HAPPEE. Because really folks, it's just that easy, right? I think I would be happier if the plate read BE HAPPY, because then at least it would be spelled correctly. If there is one concept that vanity plate owners can't seem to grasp is that it's very hard for the rest of us to take you seriously, especially with a botched statement such as this attached to your car.ENJOYLF: Enjoy life. I thought this plate would be a nice complement to B HAPPEE. And by "nice complement" and I mean, "Uhhhggghhhh."

Note: Holiday = Travel. Travel = Vanity Plates + Disgruntled Drivers. Please send your plates and stories to horriblelicenseplates[at]gmail[dot]com.

It's actually TWO WORDS

Is it BIBLE? Or Jesus? Or poop? I don't know. All I know is that if you read this website regularly, you know that it seems like most outwardly religious vanity plate owners only drive luxury vehicles, which confuses me a bit. That is a Cadillac logo above the vanity plate, for the record.

Thanks again to Smoochiefrog, who I officially welcome to the plate-arazzi. Your work is much appreciated!

Vanity Plate Mind Control

WARNING: Passing this vehicle will either make you very sleepy or you'll have the sudden urge stop smoking. Either way, this plate is obnoxious. Don't you think? Smoochiefrog, thanks for sending HPNOSIS our way.

I bet the driver of this vehicle has a pocket watch swinging from his rear view mirror, heh heh. Too bad your first request for a vanity plate was rejected (obtained from my top-secret DMV files):
