Favorite #5: You know, that car

Ah yes, THAT CAR. See the original post and comments here. We'll be back Monday with all new plates!

Only you can prevent forest fires (caused by the devil)

666 comes to us from Jeff P. As in, 666 -- the number of the beast. I think what humors me the most about this photo is this driver's choice of plates to put this number on, particularly, a Smokey the Bear plate. So, in summary:

If you could, try and prevent forest fires, but please, worship the devil as you do so.

No duh!

Jessica B. sent in ITSNXLR. At first I got this plate and was like, "It's an elixir?" And then I realized it was on a Cadillac XLR: It's an XLR, DUH! Although after all that mind numbing thinking, I'm going to need an elixir. Make it a double. Here is another DUH plate, KATLAK. Not only have you butchered the word "Cadillac," but you've went ahead and posted it on your car. (from Lauren at the Perplexikon)

Guess what kind of car this plate is on? A Porsche Cayenne. Get it? Cayenne pepper! I know, it hurts. (Plate via Amanda)

I'm going to take that elixir now, and then scream into a pillow.

Better late than a vanity plate

Chiari L. sent us ALWYSL8 (always late). I'm not sure why anyone would want a license plate with this plastered on it, but thanks for the warning, I guess.

Lexi sent us I R LATE (I are late?). I are don't know grammar very good. Glad they didn't resort to using "L8" at least.

Rachel R. sent us IM LATE. Nice excuse, but I would guess this doesn't really work with law enforcement.DNTBL8 comes to us from MooseNuggette. Uh, thanks for the warning? Although my warning to this driver would be: Don't be a douche.

Would you buy my fish?

Kerstyne sent us this gem, S3LFISH. Once again, drivers are passing 3s off as Es making this plate: SELFISH. I am guessing this driver means "placing one's own needs or desires above the needs or desires of others." I am not surprised, however, this is a vanity plate.

I guess he could also sell fish, but I kind of doubt that.

Episode I: The Vanity Menace

Today's set of plates is a continuation of yesterday's Episode II: Attack of the Vain. Let the action figure collecting begin!
R2D2JJ is from Kerstyne. Beep-beep-bloop-bzzz *head turn.
MooseNuggette sent in C3PO, which she also points out could be OPEC backwards (creepy how that works).
Amanda sent in our last plate of this series, HAN SOLO. She writes: My husband spotted this one and said I had to take a picture and send it in. He laughed that this plate would have been even better on a Ford Falcon.

I can only hope there was a wookiee in the passenger seat.

JOY T U (Joy to you).

I love this yarn SO MUCH.

How do I know crazy cat ladies are crazy? Well, back in May I write a post titled Ferfect on our site and added the word "ferfect" to the urban dictionary. Clearly, SOMEONE had an issue with that (see the definition directly below ferfect). Here is some FURther evidence of these people's cat craze:
From the official Crazy Cat Lady, Carm, comes the vanity plate PURRZ, which I know isn't referring to the noise of this car's engine, because she found it at a cat show.

BUFF CAT is from Amanda. She writes: Oh good, I hate when I get behind an overweight cat. The exhaust is brutal.

MEOWFUL is from Nancy. Her only comment was: Here's a new one fur ya. And do you see this license plate holder?!

CATSRCK (Cats rock) is from platty. Although, when I first saw it I thought of Cats 'n' Racks. Boobs and cats-- every man's dream. Speaking of which...

CAT-DAD is from Barb T. A very rare breed, indeed: The Crazy Cat Daddy.

Me-ow.

I'm not fat; I'm "fluffy"

After all of that...

BUTTAH (butter),
HAGNDAZ (Haggen-Dazs ice cream),
APPLE PI (Apple pie for nerds),
and CAKE last week...
This week I am going to eat nothing but SALADZ (and leftovers, of course).

Plate credit:
BUTTAH - MooseNuggette
HAGNDAZ - Erika S.
APPLE PI - Bonnie Z.
CAKE - Heather M.
SALADZ - Kolleen SALADZ! (You don't make friends with SALADZ!)

So basically, you hate hating haters.

I am delighted to bring you this batch of H8 plates today. STP H8TN is from Katie O. That extra T makes my head spin. I mean, it's bad enough you use the 8, but last I checked "eight" includes an ending T. Maybe they are starting a new campaign against Tennessee? Stop. Hate. Tennessee.

NOH8N (No hatin') is from Gina T. I would have to disagree with this plate. YES IH8. STOP H8N (Stop Hatin') is from Tracie. She writes: They have a good reason for having this plate; they drive like a jackass and incur a fair amount of hate from me.

Hahaha, I can't stop "loving" this photo. Kerstyne writes: I saw this car while on campus and couldn't resist. I guess the DB that the car is covered in stands for some sort of purse company, but all I could think was Douche Bag.

Mmm, this grape haterade is *so* delicious.

I'm sorry people are so jealous of me.

Ah yes, NV. For some reason if people can say something with 2 letters, instead of 4, it is automatically popular for a vanity plate. H8, CRE8IVE, and QT are some others (that's a whole other set of posts my friends...). U NV ME (You envy me) is from Donna F. I think most people would say they don't envy someone driving a Scion with a Jamestown vanity plate.

Interesting, it's another Scion. This one comes from JP, and as you can see this one is green. Get it? Green with envy. Man, that is so cre8ive.
Finally we have NUTN2NV (Nuttin' to envy) from Kayleigh B. I believe "nuttin'" is supposed to mean "nothing" in this case. And I guess this driver is right, but why advertise?

I freaking pwn you

Summon your inner geek (go ahead, I'll wait) and enjoy these extremely 133+ plates I've hand picked for you today.

PWNZ GAS is from Colleen S, who informs me this was on a Toyota Prius (a hybrid). According to wikipedia, pwn is a leetspeak slang term derived from the verb "own", as meaning to appropriate or to conquer to gain ownership. The term implies domination or humiliation of a rival, used primarily in the Internet gaming culture to taunt an opponent who has just been soundly defeated (e.g., "You just got pwned!").
We must thank our RPGAMERs for such a s00perb linguistic dialect. RPGAMER was snapped by Squidrox. I like how this person is so proud of their nerd-dom.
PWNNOOB is from sara-liz. A n00b, according to the urban dictionary is an inexperienced and/or ignorant or unskilled person. Especially used in computer gaming. So basically, this person is stating something like:

"Sir, I dominated you based on your lack of experience in this particular skill, specifically, driving. Now use your signal, and kindly remove yourself from the passing lane." kthxbye.

Nailed it!

Krista writes:

I saw this car at the drive-thru at taco bell and thought it should've read "big balls" because that's what this guy had to have to put that on his plate.

Maybe BIG WOOD's a lumberjack? Although, Krista, that probably isn't the first thing that comes to mind when people see this plate. They are probably thinking the same exact thing you thought. How does this stuff get approved?? I guess the Ohio DMV can't catch them all.

Oink, oink.

In memory of my recent rhino-virus infection, and in light of all this H1N1 swine flu paranoia, here are some plates to fuel your infectious fire.SO SICK was sent in by LadyStyx. Maybe you were going for "sick" like "crazy, cool, insane, or wicked," but seeing SO SICK makes me want to keep my distance. At least you aren't SOCNTGS. Or are you?

Our last plate is from Jason, USIKYET (You sick yet?). He writes: This is what happens when you get your doctor husband's car in the divorce but the paperwork hasn't gone through for the title.

Ouch.

A Slippery Slope

The fact that I've got more than one person emailing plates like this is amazes me. Just a note to those thinking about labeling themselves from the state of Kentucky. KY is also a very popular, uh, personal product.

Alex seems to agree with me. He writes: [This vanity plate] has become somewhat of an urban legend around Columbus. But anyway, we really hope that she is from Kentucky.

Amanda sent us KY AM I. So this might be "Kentucky am I" as well, but it doesn't make much sense either way. Confused am I.

Our last example comes from Corianne. She also has second thoughts about this plate: We all know what this is *supposed* to say, but the 12 year old inside of me can't help but snicker every time I see it.

There you have it folks. It's good to know that my 12 year old isn't the only one getting a laugh from these. Thank you Kentucky.

I have no friends. It's just me and the voices.

RU CRAZY (Are you crazy)? The answer is simple. Yes, you are crazy for putting the word NUT on your license plate. There are several well known definitions of the word nut, one of which is crazy, the other is, well, you know...

Our first nut is from Carm. She writes: "... Are happy nuts!!!"

In that case, please do no operate heavy machinery.
NUTS4OH (Nuts for Ohio?). I put the "Oh" in Ohio. And that's more of an, "Ohhh?" rather than an, "Ohhh!"
Five?! Maybe you should have a doctor take a look at that.

Our nut plates came from:
Shae M. - RU CRAZY
Melani X. - 5 NUTZ
Amanda - NUTS4OH
Georgina S. - IM NUTZ

We're not arrogant; We're just better than you

Football season is upon us, so we're going to celebrate with some fanatical vanity plates.

PLSWIN (please win) is a Green Bay Packers vanity plate and comes to us from fivetomatoes. At least they are asking nicely. It wouldn't surprise me to see a WINNOW out there somewhere though. Those Packer fans are scary.

R8DRH8R (Raider Hater) comes to us from PoetrySue. Hey, what is silver and black, silver and black, and silver and black? A drunken Raider fan rolling down the bleachers.

And finally, this Cleavland Browns plate is from Mark F.

FPITBG means exactly what you think it does: F*** Pittsburgh. Awesome job not catching that one, Ohio DMV.

Even more football plates for your enjoyment: I'll have one Roethlisberger With Ketchup and Cheese

Miss B. Haven, please meet Ann Thrax and her husband, Cy N. Ide

Here are a few selections from the archive of women who should have thought twice before they selected their vanity plate. Eesh. Here we go...

Our first is from Amanda T., MZBEHVN (Misbehavin' or Miss B. Haven). She writes:

I caught this one at a gas station in Washington state. I think it was the gas station attendant's car, so I had to be sneaky so she wouldn't see me. I thought it was a pretty awesome plate on its own, then realized that it's made even MORE awesome since the tags are from 5/2001. So she really is living up to her name!

Meg G. sent in MZPUR T. Nothing bothers me more than the pronunciation of the word "pretty" as "purdy." Meg writes: But "MZPUR T" (Ms. Purty) could have a much more amusing plate if it was "MZTUR T" (Mr. T).

Somehow I doubt this person is cool enough to know who Mr. T. is. I pity this fool.
Kate writes: I've been stalking this plate for awhile...I was waiting for a good shot! Its a doozie!

H1M8NS = High Maintenance.

Go ahead, let the eye rolling commence.
