Very few plates are put into our actually funny category, and this one from Sarah fits the bill -- TWSS (That's what she said). She writes:
Ok, I'm a huge Office fan and this actually made me laugh. A good TWSS goes a long way!
Yeah, I'm pretty sure this guy pulled out in front of me the other day...

Go fetch your dad some grog
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! LadyStyx captured this find specimen of the seas (err road?): PIR8DAD (Pirate Dad).
Anyone else want to see this guy get in a fight with NINJADAD?

Don't be a gas-hole.
Today's plate (EF-OPEC) I stumbled upon randomly reading blogs, and when I saw it, I was delighted. The owner, Tom M. has gratefully offered his pictures, and his story to our readers. He writes:
I'm part of a test program of electric Mini Coopers, there are 500 of us in CA, NJ & NY. I just got the plates a few days ago and I have had so many people beep and give me the thumbs up I can't believe it. I even have seen two people taking pictures of it while I'm driving, crazy.
That's right my friends, it's completely electric. Totally. freaking. sweet. As someone who is quite fond of Earth, I salute your efforts in advancing this technology and sharing your story. I don't usually say this about vanity plates, but I love it; It's like icing on the cake. Thanks for sending the pictures in, Tom. You can check out his blog of #250 here.

Sounds like a sexy hamburger

If you haven't seen the movie Superbad, these plates probably don't mean much to you (unless you really love John McCain or McDonalds). In the movie, under aged Fogell (or McLovin) gets a fake ID in order to buy alcohol for a party and this hilarious dialog takes place:
Evan: [examining the fake ID] Hawaii. All right, that's good. That's hard to trace, I guess. Wait... you changed your name to... McLovin?
Fogell: Yeah.
Evan: McLovin? What kind of a stupid name is that, Fogell? What, are you trying to be an Irish R&B singer?
Fogell: Naw, they let you pick any name you want when you get down there. Seth: And you landed on McLovin...
Fogell: Yeah. It was between that or Muhammed.
These would be even better if they were from Hawaii, eh?
Photo cred:

Giggity-giggty-goo
GIGGITY was sent in by Amanda L. For those of you who aren't Family Guy fans, this is the signature statement of the hypersexual character Glenn Quagmire when he refers to The Deed, usually stated with something like, "Soccer moms!? Alll right! GIGGITY, GIGGITY, GIGGITY!" Here he is telling a scary story. Quagmire is obsessed with Lois, feet, and underage women.
I mean, who wouldn't want to associate themselves with Spooner Street's resident perv?

I don't think they mean vagabonds
I was on my way to a friend's wedding yesterday and spotted this gem... I was able to grab a quick photo before the light changed; it's times like this that I'm glad that I always have my camera on me.

Quiet, please!
Melody writes:
This license plate is my husband's - and I love it!!! After he bought the Smart car, he had the brilliant idea to request a plate saying "Not Dumb" (note the location of the Smart logo) - but in the week between checking availability of the plate and actually submitting the request, someone else snapped up his idea. He came up with this instead! :-)
I like it too, Melody. There are a few plates that make us chuckle and think that maybe this vanity plate thing isn't so bad. To all the lame vanity plates out there, however, they can still GO STFU. KTHXBYE!

That's a funny name
TRD FGSN = Turd Ferguson. I assume this plate was inspired by this hilarious skit from SNL featuring Will Farrell and Norm McDonald.
And previously: More Cowbell.

What does a gay horse eat? Haaaaaay!
Donna F. writes to us:
This was on a smart car. I almost crashed my car when I drove by in a parking lot, and parked a mile away from my destination to snap it.
Now that is dedication. Your hard work has paid off.
Now, someone call the fire department.

POS Car
Jennifer writes to us: Saw this at a hotel in Virginia. It's not a great photo but it says "DTH TRAP" - I used to have a similar car, so I can sympathize.
You know, I drove a car like this throughout my high school days (However, it wasn't a Mercedes). The air conditioning broke one week into owning it, and the windows would only go down if you stood outside of the car with your hands on opposite sides of the window and forced it down. The seat belt would randomly unhinge and fly off. The transmission would frequently stop working in the middle of driving. I had to drive it in reverse to the mechanic once, because that is the only gear that worked. It's like it was trying to kill me. I'm surprised it didn't light itself on fire at some point.
Anyone else ever drive a Death Trap?

I Brake For Sweet Tea
When I first saw this one I was like, cross my grates? What does that even mean? And then Lauren M. kindly explained the lovely message on this one for us: There's nothing like Southern hospitality. Telling the person driving behind you to "Kiss my grits," is just so genteel.
Indeed. Y'all sure send me some funny plates.

Cute As A Bug
So I have to admit, this plate is funny. It's rare occurrence when someone sends us pictures of their own plate. I think most people fear our severe plate rage (and rightfully so), but with this submission we actually thought EWWABUG was quite clever. Welcome to the actually funny category Morgan. Now can someone pass me the Raid?

I'm The Mommy, That's Why
Yeah she was evil, but I still love her. I don't know if I would have gone so far as to get a vanity plate announcing the fact that she had her true evil moments, but to each his own. And by true evil moments I mean she wouldn't let me eat the whole box of fruit roll-ups in one sitting.
More evil here.
Thanks Lexi.

I'm Freakin' Out Man
That's right. This driver is proudly hot boxin' it. For those of you confused as to what that might be, let me open the Urban Dictionary for you and help clear this up:
hot boxin': Smoking cannabis/marijuana in smallish inclosed space causing the smoke to fill the room/car and be reinhaled. The room/car often starts to heat up during the procces. Often done more by high/college students then older smokers.

Rejected
The following is a list of license plates banned by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles between Jan. 1, 2007, and Jan. 29, 2009. Prepare to laugh your asses off. Our thanks goes to Georgina S. for sending this in to us.
I am shocked that someone would think they could get away with some of these plates. Where do you think you are? Virginia? (ziiiiing!)
