Good morning, Platerazzi! Mr. HLP & I are taking a much needed week off. But don't fret, we decided we are going to post some of our favorite submissions from this last year throughout this week. There are occasional vanity plates I find myself getting pumped about. This happens to be one of them. TRTLPWR (Turtle power!) is the force that inevitably comes with being a pizza-hungry super mutated reptile who fights crime. I'm talking, of course, about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a staple of my childhood. The TMNTs also spawned this great song from Vanilla Ice: Go ninja, go ninja, go! Oh, the 90s.

So we are taking a week off from the site (don't worry, I've prepared some re-posts from last year and we'll still be checking in). The reason is that Mr. HLP and I are packing up and moving to a new city! Hopefully our new destination will be filled with a plethora of license plate fails, just like the state of Wisconsin was.
Enjoy this week of holiday themed plates and a few re-posts from last year. We'll be back next week! Feel free to email us your plates and stories too, however, the response will be automated, but rest assured they are secure in our inbox and ready to be used. (And I apologize in advance for the lack of non-Christmas holiday plates - I'm still waiting for my Kwanzaa submissions...)

Today's plate (EF-OPEC) I stumbled upon randomly reading blogs, and when I saw it, I was delighted. The owner, Tom M. has gratefully offered his pictures, and his story to our readers. He writes:
I'm part of a test program of electric Mini Coopers, there are 500 of us in CA, NJ & NY. I just got the plates a few days ago and I have had so many people beep and give me the thumbs up I can't believe it. I even have seen two people taking pictures of it while I'm driving, crazy.
That's right my friends, it's completely electric. Totally. freaking. sweet. As someone who is quite fond of Earth, I salute your efforts in advancing this technology and sharing your story. I don't usually say this about vanity plates, but I love it; It's like icing on the cake. Thanks for sending the pictures in, Tom. You can check out his blog of #250 here.
Today is our ONE YEAR blogaversary! I can't believe it's been a year. On October 2nd of last year I got really bored at work, and I decided I wanted to start a blog about dumb vanity plates I was seeing around town. Soon, to our complete surprise, the plate rage grew, and suddenly I had a platerazzi sending me plates from all over this vain nation of ours (ahem, Virginia). Not only do our hearts overflow with snark, but they overflow with thanks.

freedomfirst @LicensePlteBlah I saw a license plate a few days back that I truly enjoyed. MADLYNN. I think it's perfect. It was on a minivan. It's the kind that leaves you wanting to know more. Did the woman's parents murder what was once a perfectly good name, or is her name "Lynn" and she suffers from anger issues or occasional dementia. I like to think it's the latter.
