Wait a second. I am pretty sure you need a liver to LIVE, not to mention DRIVE. Your message to the world is a good one. It's just not entirely clear. Don't you think it is a little risky proclaiming your views on organ donation on your license plate? If I needed a liver (or maybe a kidney, since you already gave your liver away), I might be swerving into your lane. This photo comes courtesy of Lynne, a former resident of the stellar state of North Carolina. Thanks Lynne! Any LIVRTAKRs out there?

I almost had one from SC to leave, but I couldn't ever catch the van after I figured out what it said...
SYKOMOM
Ummmm, would you really want to display that???
Haha Nice.
I am a donor as well... but like you I would damn sure not advertise it!
I should be working but instead I am laughing at this website.
It'd be interesting if you found a "Livrtakr" plate. I get a kick out of matching plates....I'll have to try to get you pictures of the ones I see on the way to work. A black Nissan and a white Nissan - identical cars. One plate says "Beowulf" and the other says "Grendel." They've become the highlight of my morning.
This site has got me soo addicted.. I find myself trying to make sense out of REGULAR plates that have no hidden meaning.. lol
i am not 100% positive, but i think you can donate a portion of your liver. You do need a liver to live, but i think a portion can be donated.
i was about to press send, but then did a quick google search, and found a website on live liver donors!!

Wow. You learn something new everyday. Thanks meredith.
Just verifying that you can, indeed, donate part of your liver while you are alive. The liver is a remarkable organ that regenerates itself incredibly quickly!
Biology is awesome.
Leslie, RE: Beowulf and Grendel... while I wouldn't wish injury on either of the drivers, it WOULD be rather appropos if the two cars collided and one ripped a wheel off the other. ;)
... How appropriate, the captcha text is "puller"!
I think you can donate a portion of your liver, for what it's worth.
I'd be really wierded out to see LVR&FAVA or LVREATR, though!
Bonus points for originality...despite the negative points for creepiness, he still nets out on top! Yay!
What I want to know is if he gave it voluntarily or did he wake up in a bathtub full of ice after a hgard night.
Oh, Poetry Sue, that made me laugh out loud. What a sick little mind you (and evidently, me) have. Kudos!
unless...he's donating it to Jack Daniels.
Perhaps she wasn't saying that she was an organ donor, but proclaiming how wreckless of a driver she is that she may end up giving away her liver!
It is indeed possible to donate a portion of your liver. I learned quite a bit about this last year when my one year old nephew was in dire need of a new liver. The bond between the donor and receiver is often quite strong. I would imagine this "Liver Giver" is very proud of his donation and supplying someone with renewed life.
